Join us at The Brookwood Community from Saturday, September 14, to Friday, October 11, for a transformative art exhibit that promises to captivate hearts and minds through the artwork featured at the renowned Brookwood Art Gallery inside the organization’s Gift and Garden Center in Brookshire, Texas. The journey begins with a grand reception on Saturday, September 14, beginning at 4pm, where artists and art enthusiasts alike will come together to celebrate the transformative power of creativity. 

Join us Sept. 27 for a captivating Lunch and Learn at The Brookwood Community, where we’ll delve into the enchanting world of orchids! Led by horticulture specialist Lyssa Stackpoole, this event will explore the fascinating family of orchids, which boasts over 25,000 unique species, each with its own distinctive shape, color, and fragrance.

Embrace Elegance at the Brookwood Afternoon Tea! Join us on FRIDAY, OCT. 4, from 3-5pm, and savor the time-honored flavors and cherished moments with an array of classic finger foods, delectable sweet treats, and a freshly brewed pot of tea. Each element is served with Brookwood's signature hospitality on delicate china, lovingly donated by generous families, gracing tables set with care by Brookwood Citizens.

Bike to Brookwood helps change the way the world thinks about adults with disabilities by giving Citizens the opportunity to complete an EPIC bike ride for which they have trained all year! The 2024 ride will be at Brookwood allowing more Citizens to participate and more families and friends to cheer them on. This event raises funds for Brookwood with proceeds going to the "I Believe in Brookwood" fund. Over 60 Citizens will be riding distances of 5-10 miles, 15 miles, or 20-25 miles and you can help us reach our fundraising goal of $60,000!

October is the perfect time to think about autumn and assemble a beautiful mix of pumpkins, gourds, and succulents to create a stunning centerpiece. Create your very own beautiful centerpiece with Brookwood Citizen-grown plants and advice from Brookwood’s own Horticulture Manager, Robert Grove! Get into the fall spirit on October 11 & 12 with our ever-popular Succulent Pumpkin Centerpiece Workshop! This hands-on workshop is a favorite tradition.

Join us at The Brookwood Café on Friday, Oct. 18, for an exclusive Book Club Author Meet and Greet with Julie Ames, the talented author of "A Very Special Journey of Grief, Grace, and Gratitude: No, They Are Not Okay...but It's Okay! Raising Special Needs Kids." Julie Ames, who is the proud mother of Brookwood Citizens Christina and Maria, will present her heartwarming novel during a delightful lunch, followed by a special Meet & Greet and book signing session. Don't miss this opportunity to dive into a powerful story and connect with the author behind it.

Rev Up Your Engines for a Cause! Join us on Saturday, October 26 from 8 AM to 2 PM for a Car Show Fundraiser like no other, benefiting The Brookwood Community! Over 100 jaw-dropping classic cars will be on display, competing for exciting prizes and awards, including the prestigious Gordon L. Bisel Best Corvette Award, Citizen Favorites Award, and the coveted Best of Show Trophy! Free to the public!
