Through the Grace of God, The Brookwood Community provides an educational environment that creates meaningful jobs, builds a sense of belonging and awakens real purpose for adults with disabilities.  We invite you to COME ABOARD for Brookwood’s 2017 Golf Benefit and help us reach the $1 million goal.

Dear Family and Friends,

This is my ninth year participating in the Brookwood Golf Benefit, the Primary Annual Fundraiser for the Brookwood Community.  Brookwood is a non-profit residential community for adults with mental and physical disabilities located in Brookshire, Texas.

Thomas has been a Day Program Citizen for one year now working in the greenhouses.  He loves it!  He has a huge smile on his face as we approach the bus stop each morning and is still happy when he is picked up at the end of the day despite the fact that is is really dirty!  He is the happiest we have seen him in years.  The phrase of the Brookwood mission statements that states “…builds a sense of belonging and awakens real purpose for adults with disabilities” rings so true for Thomas!

Julie and I are big believers in Brookwood and their program.  Our hope is that in 10 years or so Thomas will move to Brookwood and become a full-time resident.

I am proud to say that Brookwood keeps their expenses to less than 3%, so the majority of the funds go straight to benefiting the Citizens of Brookwood (utilities, special activities and maintenance of the homes and facilities.)  They do not accept government funding, so private fundraising is very important.

All contributions are tax deductible.  I hope you can join me in supporting the men and women of Brookwood.  My personal goal this year is to raise $10,000.  I appreciate your consideration.

Thank you,

Chris
