Residential Group Home Teacher

As a Residential Teacher or Residential Teaching couple, successful candidates will oversee much of the day-to-day activities in a home. Applicants must have some form of supervisory or management background. Learn More

Applicants must be mission orientated individuals that have a desire to serve God by providing a nurturing environment for our population. We prefer to have applicants with at least 5 or more years of residential group home or direct care experience especially working with the elderly or those with disabilities. Benefits include competitive salary, insurance, paid time off, and living quarters.
The Brookwood Community is a growing program offering a unique residential teaching position in one of our group homes. Brookwood is an internationally recognized, private, not-for-profit residential community for adults with disabilities located on a beautiful 475-acre campus in Brookshire, Texas. We are a God-Centered organization currently in our twenty-seventh year of providing a lifestyle that meets the occupational, social, recreational and spiritual needs of our citizens.

Weekend Group Home Teacher (Respite)

We are currently taking applications for a Respite to work Friday afternoon through Sunday evening supervising the weekend activities in one of our residential homes. We prefer to have applicants with at least 5/more years of residential group home or direct care experience especially working with the elderly or those with special needs. Prefer a background in psychology, special education, social service or a related field. Learn More

The Brookwood Community is currently seeking compassionate people with a commitment to human service, for Direct Care Personnel in providing personal care and daily livings needs to our wonderful citizens. Learn More

Requirements are as follows:

The ability to work a flexible schedule The desire to learn, including personal care and daily living skills Meet all health requirements, including TB test, pass background and driving checks

Previous experience in nursing homes or home health is helpful, but not required.



Part Time Retail Sales Associates

The Sherren Smith Gift and Garden Center is accepting applications for Inside/Outside Retail Associates.  Responsibilities include irrigation, customer service, unloading and loading plants, and register procedures.  Candidates must possess a professional appearance, strong customer service skills, and willingness to learn, and be organized. Part-Time Cafe Wait Staff

The Cafe at Brookwood is now hiring for Part Time Wait Staff for the lunch and evening banquet service. Our country gourmet restaurant is open everyday for lunch and private evening functions. As part of the Café staff, you will help provide a positive environment for our special citizens and guests. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, compassion for and desire to work with adults with functionally disabilities. Must pass criminal background checks.


Work Program Teacher

This position involves teaching adults with special needs to develop artistic and manual skills in our Craft and Horticulture workshops by using adaptive teaching techniques and methods of instruction. The Work Program provides meaningful opportunities that enhance our citizen’s sense of independence and self-worth while achieving production goals. If you have a four year degree in psychology, sociology, special education or a related field, or 2 years of experience with adults with Special Needs and possess a sincere desire to enrich the lives of others, then this may be the opportunity for you.

Activities and Spiritual Life Assistant

The Brookwood Community is currently seeking an Activities and Spiritual Life Assistant to support our Director of Citizen Life. Ideal candidates must be able to assist in developing a wide range of leisure time activities on and off campus with a goal to provide social, recreational and spiritual development. Must be able to lead worship, singing, develop plays, invent crafts and events. Experience working in Special Education preferred. Open Availability and flexibility to work on weekends is necessary.


Part Time Art Gallery Associate

The Brookwood Community is currently accepting applications for a Part Time Art Gallery Associate to work in the Sherren Smith Gift and Garden Center. A background in retail is a plus. Candidates must possess strong computer and research skills as well as customer service skills. Knowledge and appreciation of art is a plus! Assistant Café Manager

The Café at Brookwood is now hiring an Assistant Manager to be responsible for the operational execution of the Café. Applicants must have strong communication skills, be a team leader that can drive specific behaviors and able to make quick business decisions. Candidates must demonstrate a professional demeanor during periods of high volume and special events. Duties may include allocating reservations, supervising staff; maintaining a high standard of guest relations and following the procedures regarding cash management. Work Program Production Teacher – Georgetown, TX

The Work Program Teacher role involves teaching adults with special needs to develop artistic and manual skills. Daily set up in our Crafts and Horticulture workshops by using adaptive teaching techniques and methods of instruction. Duties may include loading and operating a kiln, working with plants and gardening outside. Candidates must be able to make sound and safe decisions in regards to behavior management, health needs and emergencies. A Texas CDL is preferred. Senior/Lead Maintenance Technician

We are now hiring a Senior/Lead Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for installs, maintaining, painting and other facilities repairs. HVAC experience is a plus and refrigeration knowledge. Responsible for plumbing, and electrical systems in residential homes, workshops, and other buildings or structures on property belonging to the Brookwood Community. Warehouseman/Driver

We are currently accepting applications for a Warehouseman/Driver. Candidates must have an exemplary driving record, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. High school degree or GED is required.
